Lately, I often found on social media or seen it in real life that people are starting to realize and put awareness of mental health, some of them also express how important these things. Take a look back, based on data that I got from Riskesdas, the prevalence of people with several mental disorders (schizophrenia/psychosis) increased from 0.15% to 0.18%, while the prevalence of emotional mental disorders in a population aged 15 years and over increased from 6.1% in 2013 to 9.8% in 2018. This means that around 12 million Indonesians aged 15 years or over suffer from depression. These problems became serious things and need further action.

Before it, we should know what is mental health and why we need to care about this. Mental Health is an emotional and spiritual resilience which enables us to enjoy life and survive pain, suffering, and disappointment. It is a positive sense of wellbeing and an underlying belief in our and others dignity and worth. It is influenced by our experience and our genetic inheritance” (Source: WHO) and why we need to be aware of these issues? Because this related to the welfare of someone which gonna be affected in his or her life. “That’s why, when we respect mental health, it also means we respect life.”

These things are also related with future challenges like I just write in the title, it must be prioritized because later the world needs human resources that have good or stable physically, intelligent or psychology. Moreover, Indonesia’s has a plan to get or achieve Golden Age in 2045. “Mental Health of the younger generation will reflect future of the nation”, said Indria Laksmi Gamayanti. We can start to contribute to this issues by care and aware of ourself and the people around us, trying to be open, and participate in sharing information soo there are no more felt taboo regarding this issue. In the end, it takes the role of all elements to realize the importance of mental health.
